Challenges

Saxx has customer-facing applications operating in AWS secured with AWS security groups.  Saxx recognized that they needed a more comprehensive security posture as they had Check Point NGFW firewalls on-premises but have not deployed any advanced network security controls in the public cloud.  Saxx engaged Valtix after an introduction to address this gap.

Solution

Saxx was running multiple AWS VPCs with VPC peering and site-to-site VPN tunnels back to on-premises. Valtix recommended deploying a hub-and-spoke architecture using AWS Transit Gateway with centralized ingress and egress security with Valtix Gateways to simplify routing and secure traffic going inbound and outbound of their application VPCs.  In the first hour session, Saxx was able to deploy a Valtix Security/Services Hub, and used Valtix orchestration to create Transit Gateway and associated spoke VPC attachments.  Saxx now uses Valtix’s advanced network security functions such as Web Application Firewall (WAF), Intrusion Detection System (IDS/IPS), and URL Filtering to secure their applications.
